2018 Hall of Fame Inductees
Dr. Tim Grennan – Class of 1968
Central Catholic Schools is a family affair for Tim Grennan. His parents, Robert and Helen Grennan, graduated from St. Mary’s in 1942 and were lifelong supporters of St. Mary’s and CCHS. Tim and his four brothers were all Central Catholic Crusaders as well. While attending Central Catholic, Tim was very active in extracurricular activities including student council, class president, and numerous sports. Following Central Catholic, Tim again was very active graduating from medical school with honors, certified in oncology and internal medicine. But he didn’t stop there. He utilized those medical skills as a highly honored flight surgeon while in the United States Air Force (with his military career spanning from 1977 to 2004, achieving the rank of Colonel). Over his career, Tim has received many prestigious awards, both in patient care and research.
He has served on the faculty of numerous leading institutions such as Harvard Macy Institute. Tim has lectured at NATO and in European countries. He is a physician, an academician, a researcher, a military Colonel, and a clinical instructor. Tim retired a year ago, after 34 years of taking care of cancer patients at Kaiser Permanente in Sacramento. He continues to teach (with Maggie their therapy dog, at both institutions) as a clinical professor at the University of California, Davis and as a college master and professor at the new California Northstate University College of Medicine. In addition, Tim continues to help out as a faculty member at the Harvard Macy Institute in Boston. Tim exemplifies the values and goals of CCHS. Please come help us honor Tim on July 28!
Francis “Frank” Krolikowski – Class of 1968
Frank Krolikowski has always enjoyed volunteering and giving of his time to make a difference. He grew up in Alda, Nebraska and graduated from Grand Island Central Catholic. Frank later embarked upon his career at Skagway where he was a team member for 43 years. Upon his recent retirement, Frank has been able to spend even more time following his passion of volunteering. You will frequently find Frank, and his wife Jan, around GICC helping with concessions, helping with gate, visiting his TeamMate. Just this year the Krolikowski’s were named the 2017-2018 Boosters of the Year and recognized for their outstanding leadership and service. This was the second time Frank received this distinction and honor! The fine arts department honored Frank for all his work with concessions, and the foundation office has found his help as “Gate Keeper” of the Class of 1968 to be valuable beyond measure.
Frank has been helping at Central Catholic longer than Howard Schumann can remember (and that, folks, is a very long time!). But having Frank lending a hand doesn’t just stop at GICC. Frank is out working in the community as well. You can find him actively involved with the TeamMates program, Hall County Historical Society, St. Mary’s Cathedral, as well as the Grand Theatre. Frank unselfishly and quietly jumps in where needed. He is the necessary support every successful organization thrives with. Frank’s caring and values are priceless. Please come join us in saying thank you to Frank on July 28.
