A Winter's Knight
Friday November 20th, 2020
A Winter’s Knight took place on Friday November 20th, 2020 virtually for the first time due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. We held two preview nights in the Howard Schumann gymnasium prior to the event so the community could come view all our auction items. Social distancing was practiced and all viewers wore masks in order to stay safe. The night of the event we held a live show with co-hosts Kory Koralewski and our own principal, Jordan Engle, with a guest appearance with Father James Golka who also drew all our raffle winners for the night. The auction highlighted over 40 Grand items which included trips, one-of-a-kind dinner experiences, a variety of guns, beef packages, exercise equipment, jewelry, a sauna, and much more!
Although the event was virtual there was still a lot of work behind the scenes to make it possible. Thank you to our co-chairs Mike and Jean Hamik, Scott and Kellie Weyers and Chad and Kayla Chrastil, all our volunteers, and GICC students and staff. A special thanks to Pax Christi Multimedia for all their work to make our live show such a success! Save the Date for the next Knight - November 19th, 2021 |
Annual Golf Scramble
Our annual Central Catholic Development Foundation Golf Scrambled kicked off Friday, August 21st with a 12:30pm shotgun start at Riverside Golf Club in Grand Island, NE. This year we had more teams than ever before with 29. It was a beautiful day for our golfers on the course. Thank you to all our volunteers, sponsors, and golfers who made this event possible! A special Thanks to GICC alum 1990, Shane Stava, for organizing this event each year. We look forward to next year!
Crusaders, we can't thank you enough.
On Tuesday, July 7th, our Crusader family came together to show our students we're here for them. On Go Big Give day, the Grand Island Central Catholic supporters raised over $80,000 including a $30,000 challenge fund from U-Save Pharmacy-Mike & Jean Hamik, Dr. John & Barbara Reilly, and Mike & Jean Wenzl.
Altogether, over 225 donors, friends, faculty, staff, alumni and students made a gift on Tuesday to Chromebooks and tuition assistance scholarships for students facing financial hardships amidst COVID-19.
In these uncertain times, your generosity and commitment to Grand Island Central Catholic are going to make a huge difference in our students' greatest areas of need.
Thank you for supporting Catholic education.
Thank you for celebrating the Crusader spirit.
